All real estate licensees are not the same. Only real estate licensees who are members of the National Association of REALTORS are properly called REALTORS. They proudly display the REALTOR "" logo on their business card and other marketing and sales literature. REALTORS are committed to treat all parties to a transaction honestly. REALTORS subscribe to a strict code of ethics and are expected to maintain a higher level of knowledge of the process of buying and selling real estate.
During the buying process, a REALTOR can help you access your financial situation, help you search for your dream property, help you select your property, negotiate your purchase, make sure you use up-to-date contracts, walk you though the inspection process and the last minute details to get you to the closing table.
During the selling process, a REALTOR will help you determine an asking price, market your property and negotiate the many details necessary to get you to the closing table.
